Saturday Freeride ride

The Saturday freeride has been running for a while now & the ability of the participants is coming on leaps & bounds!! Recently the ride has been spending quite a bit of time over at 'cream egg' & with 4 jumps being completed, the trail now carries on into 'captain underpants' which starts with a huge gap jump of approx 15ft called 'professor poopie pants' see below.
 Nirvana Simon

To give the riders a chance to clear it with out seriously injuring themselves we've put some boards up which allows us to see the distance each rider is achieving & when everyone's clearing it 100% of the time (maybe 95% just to add a bit of edge) we'll remove them. On this particular day, Alex & Kurt were clearing it by a mile & Simon was, maybe 50% of the time & another Simon, who has only just returned after breaking his arm, was doing exceptionally well too.

The trail then carries on through some singletrack to a jump which we've made to go through two trees.

After much hmming & haaing by Alex he decided to have a go (it's very handy having 2 crash test dummies in the shape of Alex & Kurt) And he cleaned it first time, only falling off after landing as we haven't quite finished the landing bit (small detail). As Alex was the first to clean it, he will be the first to name it, so when he decides, we'll let you know. Kurt, not to be outdone jumped & cleaned & then Simon had a go & cleaned it. Simon (broken arm) had a go too & made it as well.

Then the inevitable happened, Simon tried again, his back wheel just bumped a tree root on the landing ramp & well, you've seen the video. Luckily, no serious damage, but a little bit detuned after that.

If you click on each of the quick time logos below you will see a short clip of first Simon then broken arm Simon cleaning it & then Simon crashing.

 a clean   another clean  whoops

Thanks to everyone who's helped out with building & making the trails. Onwards & upwards!!
