Filming
for
Channel
5
We
were
contacted
recently
by
a
production
assistant
from
Channel
5
asking
if
we
would
be
able
to
help
them
shoot
an
opening
credit
sequence
for
a
forthcoming
adventure
sports
programme.
Once
we
realised
it
wasn't
a
leg
pull
we
readily
agreed.
As
it
was
for
a
childrens
programme
they
needed
two
young
looking
riders,
step
forward
Jake
(our
mechanic)
&
Suicide
Dave.
They
would
also
need
someone
to
carry
a
camera
mounted
on
the
bike
&
helmet,
that
would
be
Simon's
job.
We
spent
a
morning
with
them
choosing
a
location,
Parklife
was
the
chosen
track.
An
equal
amount
of
time
was
given
to
finding
somewhere
that
could
provide
coffee
&
bacon
butties
for
the
film
&
support
crew.
(you
wouldn't
believe
how
important
this
was!)
A
date
was
agreed
for
filming,
Monday
20/6,
and
after
2
further
phone
calls
regarding
said
bacon
butties
the
day
duly
arrived.
Amazingly
everyone
managed
to
arrive
by
8am
&
filming
began.
Simon
carried
the
camera,
filming
either
Jake
or
David
down
Parklife
from
the
rear
of
his
bike
or
from
the
helmet.
And
a
proper
cameraman
went
to
various
points
on
the
track
to
film
them
as
they
passed
by.
Luckily
there
were
a
few
crashes
to
add
a
bit
of
drama.
The
medical
team
casually pointed
out
to
the
boys
that
if
they
did
crash
they
wouldn't
come
to
help
them
for
at
least
30secs
so
as
not
to
spoil
the
shot!!!
The
sequence
they
were
shooting
was
only
going
to
be
30secs
long,
but
the
amount
of
work
which
went
into
arranging
&
producing
it
was
an
eye
opener.
Keep
your
eyes
peeled
on
Channel
5
from
3rd
July
to
see
the
results.
