Stars for a day

When a film company who we had helped out previously gave us a call to see if we could come up with 3 twentysomething riders & a fun location, we were more than happy to help. They were originally after a girl rider in her 20's as well, but after repeated rebuffals of my suggestion that I (43yrs & young at heart) could swing it, they decided to go for 3 guys instead. Suicide Dave, Iain & Tony were at the top end & maybe sneaking over but they are very fresh faced! See below.

We took them up to 'heads roll' and the filming began. With most filming there are loads of repeated shots, but it wasn't too bad this time & the filming seemed to flow. Plus for the boys it was like manna from heaven as they were doing what they love to do ie. jumping & riding. The only glitch in production apparently was me running around with my instamatic digi camera which flashed automatically & unfortunately got picked up on the filming. But what's more important ? film company production or the Nirvana website, I know what my choice is!!

The film crew.

To start with they took some film with the camera running along railway tracks which they built & filmed two bikes riding either side. Then they headed over to head's roll & the boy's got to do repeated jumps over No 1, No 2 & No3. The only dodgy bit being when suicide was a bit too close to Iain on take off so consequently nearly landed on him & had to take avoiding action, but salvaged it magnificently.

The blur is Suicide on No 1 jump

Then we needed something bigger so we took them over to 'Kicker conspiracy' which is approx 17ft. Iain was the star of this one & managed to pull off repeated jumps easily.

Then they kitted Suicide out with a camera on his bike, which we all assumed would be a small headcam type of thing....but no, it was huge.

Luckily they weren't after major jumps (maybe because we mentioned his nickname was suicide) with it but some small jumps & trail shots.

And as we say in the business "That was a wrap."

What a fun way to spend a day.
