A
long
dab!

It
was
a
beautiful
day
so
the
girls
&
I
decided
to
head
over
to
Peaslake
&
begin
our
ride
from
there
for
a
change.
We
climbed
up
from
the
car
park
in
Peaslake
&
did
some
great
singletrack
back
down
again
&
messed
around
on
Pitch
Hill
for
a
bit.
I
always
lose
my
bearings
over
on
Pitch
&
Holmbury
as
one
intersection
can
look
like
about
20
others.
Luckily
we
had
Mannon
with
us
who
is
our
very
own
welsh
homing
pigeon.
She
guided
us
around
for
a
bit
&
then
we
did
a
couple
of
lovely
steep
downs
called
'almost
cut
my
hair'.
We
carried
on
&
climbed
back
up
Holmbury
hill
to
the
top
&
then
came
down
via
park
life
&
telegraph
road.
I
knew
I
was
getting
a
bit
tired
where
I
had
to
let
the
girls
go
past
on
the
first
2
sections
of
telegraph
as
I
couldn't
pedal
hard
enough
to
keep
my
speed
up.
But
the
last
stretch
is
great,
mostly
downhill
&
you
can
just
fly
along.
We
were
now
on
the
homeward
stretch
&
we
got
to
the
top
of
a
piece
of
track
which
cut
through
the
woods
down
the
hill
to
get
get
us
on
the
main
track
below.
Helen
said
there
was
a
jump
at
the
bottom
which
her
husband
does
&
there
followed
a
debate
as
to
whether
we
should
do
it
or
not.
Now
I
should
mention
when
I
get
tired
I
have
a
sense
of
humour
failure
&
have
no
patience
whatsoever.
Deciding
we
should
just
do
it
rather
than
talk
about
it
I
headed
off
down
the
hill.
Approached
the
bottom
&
assessed
the
situation,
there
was
a
ditch
about
4-5ft
wide
across
the
bottom,
with
the
track
the
other
side.
On
the
approach
there
was
no
take
off
ramp
just
a
sort
of
plateauing
from
coming
down
the
hill.
Now
I
can
honestly
say
if
I
were
to
look
at
this
obstacle
in
normal
circumstances
where
I
am
fully
alert
&
feeling
confident
I
would
not
do
it.
It's
beyond
my
technical
capabilities
at
the
present. But
tired
as
I
was
I
just
wanted
to
get
home
&
thought..hhmm
bit
tricky
but
s**
it
let's
do
it.
I
kept
my
speed
up
lifted
the
front,
thought
oops
I'm
not
going
to
mak.......
I
felt
my
body
hit
the
ground
&
thought"
that's
not
too
bad"
&
then
smash,
my
face
hit
the
dirt
&
I
realised
I
wasn't
quite
so
lucky.
My
glasses
dug
into
the
bridge
of
my
nose
&
went
all
out
of
shape
&
by
helmet
did
it's
job
and
cracked.
The
rest
I'm
sure
you've
all
been
through
yourselves,
lying
there
in
agony
just
waiting
for
the
pain
to
subside
&
then
gingerly
getting
back
on
the
bike
to
make
a
subdued
ride
for
home.
The
only
upside
being
it
did
look
pretty
spectacular
apparently.
I
normally
try
to
take
positives
from
situations,
but
in
this
circumstance
I
can't
say
how
I
should
of
done
it,
I
just
shouldn't
have
done
it.
The
only
moral
of
the
story
being
-Beware,
tiredness
can
kill!!
