Nirvana
2005 Challenge Cup Report 30th Aug
by Simon Thomas
Conditions
were
near
to
perfect
this
evening.
Riders
were
set
off
at
timed
intervals
according
to
their
time
last
week.
The
first
rider
left
at
6.30pm
the
last
at
6.59pm.
Marcus
left
4mins
before
Jamie,
the
last
rider,
&
was
ominously
warned
by
Simon
that
he
would
be
caught.
This
proved
to
be
the
case.
It
was
all
very
exciting
&
Roland
did
very
well
to
finish
1st.
 Alex
over
the
tree. Adrian
at
the
finish.
A
spectators
view
We
took
up
position
on
'wave
on
mutilation'
at
the
tree
hoping
to
see
a
bit
of
action.
We
were
a
bit
disappointed
at
first
as
most
people
got
off
&
ran
over.
And
then
at
last
we
got
a
couple
of
riders
riding
it,
wery
well,
it
has
to
be
said.
I
only
saw
one
crash,
Marcus
Darcus
who
went
right
over
the
bars
with
the
bike
landing
on
his
head-
7/10
for
style.
But
top
marks
to
every
body
else
who
managed
it.
We
then
decided
to
head
down
to
the
main
track
&
unfortunately
got
in
the
way
of
the
fastest
rider
on
the
course
who
so
frightened
my
little
boy
he
squashed
the
eggshell
he
had
been
carrying
carefully
all
the
way
round,
tears
were
to
follow.
Everyone
seemed
to
be
going
at
quite
a
pace,
even
on
the
long
drags
uphill.
Good
luck
for
next
week.
