ROUTES AND RIDES - Trails

Sunday ride 15th June May 2003

This Sundays ride was the hottest ride of the year so far. Almost too hot, so commiserations to people doing the London to Brighton it must have been unbearable.

The trails were dusty & fast. So we headed over to Redlands to do the new improved 'Wave of mutilation'

Then onto 'Punch the clock' where new rider Stuart had to crash & go home. Then 'white jam' & 'follow through' before the tea stop at the tower.
After that we went to look at the 'stepmother' which I haven't done since last year. It's been resurfaced & is just fantastic, one of the fastest descents around. Then over to Holmbury hill to do 'surfa rosa' & 'golden birdies'. On to the shop at Peaslake for ice cream. Then as Simon was struggling with a cold, back to Nirvana via 'ella guru' 'Thanks I'll eat it here' & the descent into paddington farm, where the biggest crash of the day occurred. Stuarts (remember him) friend took out 10 feet of stinging nettles & bushes with his face.

Simon was so bushed on his return he stashed his camelback in the fridge forgetting to remove digicam. Fortunately retrieved by Jackie & the pictures are here for you all to see.
